I prescribe a lot of birth control pills and many NuvaRings for my patients. As you might imagine most women like their method and have few side effects. FromHealthDay News — An analysis of data from 50 studies across 14 countries finds that errors in using condoms are common and could contribute to unwanted pregnancies or sexually transmitted infections.
Stephanie Sanders and colleagues at The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction at Indiana University looked at 16 years of data on the issue, mainly from the United States and Britain.
Many teens who come to see me for birth control assume that they will need a complete physical including a pelvic exam. Sometimes, just the idea of a pelvic exam may prevent a young woman from seeking birth control pills. They may have heard from friends that it’s painful or embarrassing, and it’s understandable to want to avoid it.
